Santa's Bells!

I had to share this story with everyone. So last night I was soooo tired, It was about 8:30, and I was just ready for the kids to go to bed. Joe was at a meeting, and I expected him home at any minute. Well about 8:45 I was in the living room with all the kids playing Skipbo. (This is our favorite card game to play.) When out of no where we heard "Santa's bells". Yes we really did! They were checking on us to make sure we were being good, and that the kids were in bed. (Funny how Joe or I are never present when the kids hear these bells, I just hope they don't catch on anytime soon.) So we hear these bells, and Landon literally froze. I thought he was gong to cry he looked so terrified. This totally took him by suprise. I looked at both the boys, and said, "Boys, we need to finish our game tomorrow, you need to get into bed! Landon said, "I am getting out of here" and he was up and out of his chair before I even finished talking. I was trying so hard not to laugh at that cute kids. Ironically, Joe just happened to come through the door just a few minutes later. We go to tuck the kids in and Carson asks, "Mom why are we hearing bells like almost every night"? I replied, "He just wants to make sure that you are behaving this year so that he can bring you what you want for Christmas". I looked at Landon who still looked like he had seen a ghost, and asked him if he was alright. He looked straight at me and said, "Mom those bells sacred the crap out of me"! I almost fell to the ground I was laughing so hard. I looked at both of them and said that there was nothing to be afraid of if they were being good! I don't think I will ever forget that face when he heard "Santa's Bells"!
Wish us luck, we are taking the kids to actually see the big guy this weekend. We will see how brave Landon and Abby are, I just hope Carson doesn't call his bluff:)

That is so cute! It reminds me of hearing Santa's bells at grandma's house on Christmas Eve when we were little. Good luck with the Santa visit. Trey won't have anything to do with him. He doesn't even want a present from him because he's "too scary."
